Isle of Wight Outing

Our outing to the Isle of Wight as reported in the RH Uncovered magazine:

"Members of Haywards Heath and District Probus Club enjoyed a trip away from Mid Sussex this autumn, staying at the Warner Bembridge Coast Hotel on the Isle of Wight. The group of 24 holidayed at the hotel, once owned by George V's Lord-in Waiting, overlooking the Solent.

Probus clubs for retired and semi-retired people from al was of life, often including business and professional people wishing to maintain a social network with others of similar interests. There are more than 2,000 clubs in the UK with the movement operating worldwide.

Our Club President said: "This trip to Bembridge was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in the group and provided a relaxed environment for all. Congenial company, excellent food and to cap it all, good weather too. Who could ask for more?"

The first meeting of the  Haywards Heath and District Probus Club took place in the mid-1980s' with 19 attendees. Regular informal meetings with buffet lunches started in May 1985, today about 50 members meet at Lindfield Golf Club on the second Wednesday each month. "
